Cinque Terre and the Italian Riviera

June 15 - 18 Exploring this magical area and lesser known wonders on the Italian coast.

Yet another part of Italy that is exceptionally beautiful. We enjoyed exploring Cinque Terre by boat with stops to explore some of the cities.

Each of the 5 cities that compose Cinque Terre are unique and lovely in its own right.

The majesty of the ancient churches and the history contained therein never cease to inspire us.

Lesser known but equally magical are the cities that comprise the Gulf of Poets namely Lerici, La Spezia and Portovenere. These cities inspired writers including D H Lawrence, Shelley and the poet Lord Byron.

Stacy always finds time to admire the amazing flowers that line nearly every street in Italy.

We celebrated Terry on Father’s day in the Lakes region with fine drink and stunning views.

A visit to Portofino helped us understand why people travel from all over the world to visit this sophisticated and breathtaking town in the Italian Riviera.

We had an opportunity to get a birdseye view of this stunning coast line on yet another old Funivia that also led to a beautiful shrine.

Italians take their sunbathing seriously and Stacy took lessons from the locals arriving early to ensure the chair number 16 was positioned for maximum sun exposure.
