Ischia and Rome

May 27 - 31 Italy’s island with the best beaches and thermal spas is Ischia where we were joined by dear friends.

Toby and Stacy enjoy some retail therapy and learn about the newest Italian fashion trends in Ischia.

Enjoying the beautiful fishing village of Sant Angelo and the cooling breezes in Ischia.

This photo captures the idyllic beauty of this fishing village in Ischia, a refreshing change from the busy crowds found elsewhere.

We splurged on “mostly” made in Italy hats to step up our fashionista status. Thanks Tom!

No trip to Italy is complete without an Italian cooking class. The top chef at Botania Relais in Ischia taught us how to make pasta, ravioli and tortellini which we later sampled with new friends.

We took a death defying ride through a narrow mountain road to have a fun and delicious sunset dinner at the top of the mountain at an old winery in Ischia.

The gents were determined to hear no evil and see no evil while living the dream in Ischia.

The ladies were open to any possibility that was fun and unique.

Best appetizer ever! Fabulous margherita pizza.

We enjoyed the local pasta and braved the rabbit stew, an Ischian specialty. Tastes like chicken, LOL.

Stacy and Terry continued our adventures in Roma. We stayed in a lovely neighborhood with beautiful lakes and trees.

Our culinary adventure continued with dry aged beef in Rome. Yum!

Stacy finally had her first Roman artichoke. It was great just like her grandma used to make.

Lunch and a selfie in front of Rome’s most splendid Baroque masterpiece, Piazza Navona.

While in Rome, we had the opportunity to experience the Pantheon, an architectural masterpiece and the Vatican museum, which is surreal and very difficult to showcase in pictures because it is best experienced first hand.
